Mark Andrews BVSc MRCVS
Mark graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2003. He went on to work for a couple of years in mixed practice in Cheshire before moving to Newmarket to gain valuable equine experience working at Rossdales. After working in Newmarket he moved back to Cheshire and set up Wrexham Equine Care (formerly Wrexham Veterinary Care) in January 2009. Mark’s areas of particular interest are lameness and poor performance investigations as well as all aspects of sport horse work. Mark lives in Threapwood with his wife Sam and son Dylan as well as his other pride and joy a black Labrador Luca (and the cat). Mark is a keen skier, enjoys being out in the fresh air keeping active, walking Luca, following the hunt and watching the Crusaders playing in Wrexham.
Sam Clarke BVSc MRCVS
Sam graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2014. She then spent three years working in Matamata, New Zealand where she gained valuable experience working mainly with Thoroughbreds and Sport Horses. Here she gained a keen interest in medicine cases and particularly enjoyed working with foals.
Sam is happy to be back in the UK nearer to home and is enjoying getting to know the North Wales and Shropshire area and meeting all of the Wrexham Equine clients and horses.
In her spare time Sam enjoys exploring the countryside with her fiancée Tom, and is looking forward to her Beagle puppy (Tui) being old enough to join them. Sam has ridden horses from a young age but hasn’t yet committed to a horse since returning to the UK.
Geri Long BVSc MRCVS
Geri graduated from the University of Liverpool and went on to work in a large equine practice in Cheshire before joining Wrexham in February 2018. Geri is interested in all aspects of Equine practice, particularly foal medicine and gastro intestinal disorders. Geri previously completed an externship at Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital in Kentucky and saw practice at Rossdales Diagnostic Centre in Newmarket.
Outside of work Geri and her partner Matthew have a number of shire horses that they breed and show all over the country. Geri also enjoys country walks with her Jack Russell, Gyp.
Jeanette joined Wrexham Equine Care from Cogent breeding in 2016 where she had spent the last 13 years as a Cytomation Technologist, working in the production of sexed semen, and as a project facilitator for Bovine IVF and embryo-transfer projects.
Jeanette has always had a love of anything equine from a young age and decided to switch her four legged friends from bovine to equine and join us here, as part of the Fyrnwy equine group at Wrexham.
Being an active person Jeanette enjoys spending her free time between Olli (pictured), Tilly her 11hh welsh x , Star her Lurcher and when she can, squeezes a bit of yoga in there too!!
Linzi joined our team in November 2016. Linzi has always had a passion of horses from a young age and working in many disciplines such as racing, hunting, eventing, showing and Studs. Linzi has 3 horses of her own currently, a native coloured cob, a section A for her children who rides and drives, and most recently a Appaloosa X Knabstupper weanling. At home Linzi Lives with Her husband and three young Children who all now share her love for horses.
Danielle joined the team in January 2018. She has loved horses since she was a child. Danielle has worked at a Riding For The Disabled (RDA) centre in Liverpool for many years. This also involved taking horses and riders to compete at the RDA National Championships held at Hartpury.
Danielle owns a Welsh Section C mare who came with her when she left the RDA due to her not being suitable due to her cheeky attitude!
