Jim is originally from Shropshire and lived near the Wrekin as a boy. He graduated from Bristol University in 1987 and then worked in large animal and equine practice in Cheshire before moving to Fyrnwy Equine Clinics in 1990. Jim is married with two daughters, who have both enjoyed time in the pony club. Jim really enjoyed show jumping in his youth. He currently owns “Harley”, the practice’s Section A pony. Jim’s hobbies include skiing and mountain biking – at which he has competed nationally. His best so far is a British Cycling 3rd place glass trophy!
Jim enjoys all aspects of equine veterinary care but has a particular interest in surgery and in particular colic surgery. He is a racecourse veterinary surgeon at Uttoxeter and Aintree.
