Nichola Steel

Nichola graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 1999 and after a year in mixed work began a career in equine practice. In 2003 Nichola joined Fyrnwy Equine Group where she developed an interest in equine internal medicine completing a Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice (Equine Medicine) in 2011.

In 2013 Nichola joined the University of Liverpool as a lecturer and post graduate educator where she completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education and a MSc in Veterinary Professional Studies completing a clinical audit of treatment and monitoring of horses and ponies with Pituitary Pars Intermedia Dysfunction.

From 2014 until 2021 Nichola was the Director of the University of Liverpool Veterinary Postgraduate Unit (Equine and Large Animal) before returning to clinical practice at Fyrnwy in 2021. Nichola is still involved in postgraduate education as an assessor and examiner for the RCVS Cert AVP but is passionate about first opinion equine practice with a particular interest in equine medicine.
