Equine Internal medicine encompasses the investigation and management of a wide number of diseases affecting a range of body systems including the airways, gastrointestinal system, nervous system, liver, genitourinary system, eyes, skin, heart, and circulatory system.

This can include (but is not limited to) the following disorders:

• Respiratory disease
• Weight loss
• Chronic diarrhoea
• Colic
• Headshaking
• Neurological disorders
• Liver disease
• Kidney/ Urinary tract disorders
• Eye Problems
• Skin disease
• Oncology (cancer)
• Muscle disorders
• Cardiac/ circulatory problems and anaemia

We have both RCVS recognised specialists and RCVS certificate holders in equine internal medicine who can investigate a range of conditions affecting these systems either on your yard or where appropriate at one of our hospitals. We provide 24-hour cover and nursing care to allow us to deliver intensive care to critical patients where necessary.

Investigation and management of these cases is facilitated by our state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment and in house laboratory.
